Welcome to Dead Lakes Recreation Area 
The Dead Lakes Recreation Area is just a short drive off Hwy 71 in Wewahitchka. Here you’ll find a variety of activities including hiking, fishing, boating, camping and nature viewing. The park is open from 8:00 am till sundown year-round and provides visitors with a boat ramp, fresh-water trails and a camping area. There is a playground and horseshoe pit close by the picnic pavilion. The park also has restrooms and a bath house. Camping by tent or RV at the park is very popular and is first-come, first served. Check-in is at the front Kiosk and is still on the honor system. There are a total of 21 RV spots and 8 spots for tent campers. These spots offer electricity, water and picnic tables and are $14 a night. Primitive tent camping is almost limitless and cost $10 a night.
