Welcome to Wildcat Mountain State Park
On a steep ridge overlooking the scenic Kickapoo River Valley, Wildcat Mountain State Park offers hiking trails with spectacular views and camping for families, groups and horseback riders. Canoe the Kickapoo River in your own canoe or rent one in Ontario.

Camping and reservations
Wildcat Mountain State Park has campgrounds for families and individuals, groups and people with horses. All three types of sites can be reserved.

Firewood
Firewood is for sale at the campground.

Family campground
The family campground at the top of Wildcat Mountain has 25 sites. Most sites are reservable. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring and the campground has flush toilets, showers and a dump station. No electrical hookups are available. There's a campground host during the summer. Pets are allowed in the campgrounds on a leash no longer than 8 feet long and must be kept under control.

Cart-in campsites
Twenty cart-in campsites are available to reserve. Park your vehicle in a lot for your cart-in site, we supply the cart, you load your gear and travel on foot no further that 400 feet to a campsite off the beaten path. Some of these popular sites are under a pine stand and others are in hardwoods. There is no electricity at these sites. Each site has a fire ring and picnic table. There is a drinking fountain and vault toilet in this camp area and it is within walking distance of the shower building.

Horse campground
There are 24 sites for equestrians available northeast of the park office. All 24 sites can be reserved. The campground has picnic tables, fire rings, drinking water, vault toilets, a corral, hitching posts, parking pads, loading ramps and a large parking lot. The horse campground is open May 1 to November 14 annually. Tether poles are provided at each campsite. Please bring your own tethering ropes, as none are available at the park. Please contact the park office for information about the use of fencing or other types of restraining devices.

Outdoor group campground
There are three reservable group campsites about a half-mile east of the nature center and maintenance building. The campground has vault toilets, picnic tables, fire rings and a shelter house. Water must be obtained at the shower building, park maintenance building or from a portable water tank in the group camp. Group sites 1 and 2 can each hold up to 25 people. Group site 3 can hold up to 75 people. The group campground is open May 1 to November 14 annually.

Canoe campsite
A primitive campsite accessible only by canoe is located on the Kickapoo River southwest of the canoe landing. This campsite is available on a first-come, first-served basis. There is not a fee for this site.
