Welcome to Schoolhouse Canyon Campground
The campsites at Schoolhouse Canyon Campground are the most beautiful on the Russian River. The lower sites are tucked into a Redwood grove while the canopy of the upper sites is a mixture of Bay, Oak and Madrone. There is shade cover and protection from the sun throughout the canyon. Each site has a campfire pit with grill and a hand made redwood picnic table.  A winter creek and falls split site #30 in half, which is known as the “Honeymoon Suite” as a couple were married there in the 1970s. #9 is big and goes to larger families with older kids, while the 7s and C have electric hookups. #14 has a large redwood stump with a happy face. It’s almost always booked. Campsite #13 is tucked back in between a couple of Redwoods and G is next to a tree that is growing sideways instead of up. There is even one site which has a secret spot to hide your tent that allows you to look out over the the others in privacy. Whether you choose to spend a day at the beach, hiking at the coast or wine tasting in the Russian River Valley, Schoolhouse campground is a perfect, central location from which to branch out and explore Sonoma County. Please come for a visit.
