In the early 1900's, Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings sat by a campfire on the banks of the St. John's River listening to Barney Dillard tell stories of his life on the river.  Those stories were later to become a big part of the book, "The Yearling". Who would have thought that a century later, Barney's great granddaughter, Reva would own Parramore's, Then thirty years later his great-great-granddaughter, Lori.  If tradition holds in another twenty years it could be his great-great-great granddaughter Kaleigh.  It is the family's wish that our little paradise always retain the "old florida" feel and charm, and all who drive in feel a sense of family. Located on the beautiful St. John's River in Astor, Florida, Parramore's is a nature lovers paradise.  From our tranquil spot you can observe the  wildlife, try your hand at fishing, enjoy the many natural springs around us, or take a day trip to Disney or the beach.  Here, there is something for everyone.
