Welcome to Hok-Si-La City Park & Campground
Hok-Si-La is a 252 acre, municipally owned and operated park located on the Minnesota side of Lake Pepin. The park offers spectacular views of the Mississippi River, Lake Pepin, and the surrounding bluffs. Enjoy the Mississippi River by experiencing tent camping at its best, launch a boat at the public boat ramp, or swim and relax on the sandy beach. Take time to explore the mile long stretch of Mississippi River shoreline, check out the interpretive center, enjoy the kids at the playground, play volleyball or basketball, enjoy a picnic or relax at the chapel. Facilities include a dining hall, screened shelters, tent camping and three sleeping cabins (cabins opening May 2016). Park is open year-round for general use. Buildings and camping season is mid-April through mid-October. Bring your family out for a hike, bird watching or a stroll on the beach. Winter offers groomed cross-country ski trails. (Grooming updates posted on Facebook.) Lake Pepin is a widening of the Mississippi River. Schools, 4-H clubs, family reunions, birthday parties, weddings, company picnics, service organizations, church groups, and outdoor organizations find the park has the space and amenities they desire. The Park and Campground offers a great place to start exploring the Mississippi River and Lake Pepin. Office area serves as check-in for all facilities, tourist information center and store. Interpretive Center shows flora and fauna of the Mississippi River and surrounding bluffs. Inside find display cases with memorabilia from the Boy Scout days and Tour De Pepin. Did you know the park's history includes a working fox farm with 400 pairs of foxes. The Boy Scouts named the park. They chose a Dakota Sioux word meaning a boy.The park is located 65 miles south of the Twin Cities on U.S. Highway 61. 35 miles northeast of Rochester on Highway 63, and two miles north of Lake City on Highway 61/63.
