Nestled in the beautiful countryside of northern Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, we're only a short drive away from many local attractions. The famous Green Dragon Farmer's Market, Historic Ephrata Cloister and Middle Creek Wildlife Preserve are just minutes away. Enjoy browsing through the treasures of over 3,000 antiques dealers in nearby Adamstown or take a short trip to Cabela's Store, the Reading Outlets and Reading Air Museum. Experience the Amish way of life as you travel through scenic farm country on authentic Steam trains or by horse and buggy. Spend the day with a knight at the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire or explore Sight and Sound, Dutch Wonderland and Hershey Park - all family favorites Located within easy driving distances of Lancaster, Reading, Hershey, Gettysburg and Valley Forge. Nature lovers and hikers can enjoy hiking the Horseshoe Trail (which begins at Valley Forge and continues to the Appalachian Trail), which is located behind the campground. Middle Creek Wildlife Preserve is a 5 minute drive from our campground. This 5,000 acre preserve abounds in wildlife, hiking and fishing. Bicycle riding is also popular throughout the area. Hickory Run Campground is situated on 80 acres, with campsites varying from primitive tenting to pull-thrus with hookups. Wooded or open sites are offered to accommodate each family's preference. Primitive and Full Service log cabins are available for rent, accommodating a family up to eight. Along with any stay at our campground, you're welcome to enjoy all the daily activities. Once you have settled in at Hickory Run Campground, the fun begins! A variety of family activities for both the young and the young at heart are offered. Spend the day relaxing by the pool or fishing in our 3 acre lake, which is stocked with trout during the spring and autumn months. During the summer, anglers enjoy fishing for bass, sunfish and bluegills. Paddle boats, kayaks and canoes are also available for rent. You can join a game of basketball, tennis, volleyball, horseshoes or baseball...or just sit back and relax while the kids play miniature golf or enjoy the game room or one of the three playgrounds! The campground staff also provides campers with a daily schedule of activities. You'll find ceramics and arts and crafts sessions, hayrides and movies scheduled throughout the week. Live entertainment is scheduled every Saturday night featuring a live band, disc-jockey or country line dancing. What a great way to mix and mingle with your fellow campers! Hickory Run Campground also offers special theme weekends throughout the season. The pig and bull roasts are popular specialties, along with the Mother's and Father's Day chicken barbecues.
