Welcome to the Henson Creek RV Park
The RV park opened in the 50's and is located in the quaint little town of Lake City, which is snuggled in the San Juan mountains of Colorado. Even though this is a small town, there are lots of exciting and fun things to do. Choose between backpacking, boating, camping, horseback riding... the list is endless!! There is a diverse selection of shops in the town square and savory places to dine after a long day of mountain excursions. Nearby there is the Alpine Loop and Silver Thread Scenic and Historic Byways. A favorite of hikers are the Five Fourteeners, which are peaks in the mountain range that are over 14,000 feet. Lake San Cristobal, a great place for fishing, is the second largest natural lake in Colorado and is three miles south of Lake City. For more information about Lake City, visit their official website.
The townspeople gather together for many social gatherings. One of the more favorite events is the Fourth of July Parade. Everyone makes their own "float" or dresses up themselves or their animals to walk through the city streets. Another wonderful event is when the community choir and band perform for the town.
