Welcome to Harpers Ferry Campground
Only one hour from the Washington, DC and Baltimore Metro Regions, River Riders now offers primitive waterfront camping on the Potomac River in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia where Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia come together. Campsites and cabins are available on a beautiful deep water section of the Potomac River near Harpers Ferry in Jefferson County. A four mile section of deep water runs from our campground to above the Dargan Bend Boat Ramp in Maryland. Pontoon boats, fishing boats, water skiing, wake boarding, and jet skis are welcome. Pitch your tent and tie your boat up out front. Bring your RV as well. There are electricity and water hookups for RV sites. For those willing to rough-it, it is a beautiful unique location. We also offer beautiful, River Front Cabins that offer heat and AC, as well as their own full bathrooms.

Amenities

Within Facility
We have electric and water hook-ups at all of our RV sites. In order to get our water to the sites, however, it is under pressure. The pressure to the RV sites is up to 70 psi which may exceed manufacturer recommendations for pressure to your unit. We recommend a pressure regulator!
All RV sites are back-in.
We have no pull-through sites.
Sites 30 - 35 have 20 and 30 amp hook ups.
Sites 20, 21, 22, 25, 26 and 29 have 20, 30, and 50 amp hook ups.
The campground office is located at River Riders' main base. We offer snacks, firewood, bug spray, and other common campground needs.
The campground is in a beautiful / unique location. Because of that it is a mixed use site. The last zipline in the Harpers Ferry Canopy Tour passes over some of the Cabin/ RV / Deluxe Tent sites. The boat launch is used by River Riders to drop off some of their guests. There are train tracks up the hill behind the campground and a tunnel nearby where you may hear horn honking at some of the sites, so if you're a light sleeper, it will help to bring ear plugs for the occasional trains at night. Our RV sites are back-in only, we do not have any pull-through sites.
