Welcome to Gakona Alaska RV Park
Open yearly from May – September, the Gakona Alaska RV Park hosts recreational travelers, RV’s and motorhomes, hikers, groups, and sportsmen. There are many foreign travelers with approximately 25% coming from European countries. Although the RV park does advertise in many places, the best source of business has been by word of mouth and return visit. In 1974, John & Naomi Masters purchased land in Gakona Alaska. Construction for the Gakona Alaska RV park began in 1986 with the grand opening during the summer of 1987. In the beginning there were 10 RV spaces renting for $10 a night. By 1993, the park had 50 RV spaces and some tent sites. In subsequent years, more hookups were added. As the construction of a complete water and sewer system was built, shower and laundry facilities were added to the park.
