Welcome to Cottonwood Park Campground
An Idaho Power recreation facility. It is situated on the shore of CJ Strike Reservoir. Cottonwood Park Campground has been here for years, however they are in the process of completing a major up-grade and expansion. It is still gravel, sand and boulder covered with quite a few cottonwood trees but has been expanded with new tables, fire pits with grills and a new vault style toilet yet to be installed. We took our pictures February, 2010, so you will have to use your imagination and picture the cottonwood trees with leaves. The primary attractions here are fishing, camping, bird watching and water sports.

Amenities

Within Facility
Campsites: There are 34 camping sites, each with a picnic table, fire pit and grill. Each camping site is bordered by large boulders. A couple of these are group sites equipped with multiple tables.
Fees: Summer rate of $8.00 per day and Winter rate of $4. This pricing is as of 2013. Idaho Power changes pricing often.
Campground Reservations: Idaho Power does not provide for campground reservations, Cottonwood Park is on a first come first serve.
Fishing: Fishing is available from the shoreline, docks and boats for several species including bass, trout and crappie.
Boat Docks: The marina is greatly improved with new dock facilities and a 40 foot wide ramp. The only group shelter is located at the marina.
Swimming: There is no beach here, however, I am sure campers would find plenty of water to play in. Just watch out for the fishermen!
RV's: There is plenty of room for RV camping at this campground.
Cell phone reception: There is cell phone reception in this campground, but limited.
Telephone: There is no pay phone at this campground, however there is one at North Park Campground or Bruneau nearby.
Pets: Pets are welcome on a leash.
Restrooms: There is one vault style toilet with another planned to be complete before summer. We found the existing one to be clean and well maintained.
Drinking water: There is drinking water available.
Parking: There is extra parking available.
Garbage: Dumpster available.
