Welcome to Singletary Lake State Park
Singletary Lake State Park welcomes groups of 20 or more to enjoy camping, retreats and environmental education in the unique Carolina bay lakes region and within the 35,975-acre Bladen Lakes State Forest. Groups and day visitors alike must arrange for access and reservations by contacting park staff prior to your visit. Two separate camps offer dormitory-style cabins, modern restrooms and mess hall. Environmental education programs and guided hikes can be arranged. Campers can embark on a learning adventure to discover the wonders of the Carolina bay ecosystem and swim in the lake’s shallow waters from a 500-foot pier.

Amenities

Within Facility
Hiking
The park is a great place for a hike! See the Trails page for more information. While camping in the park, take advantage of the recreation opportunities offered by this unique bay lake. Relax along the lakeshore among beautiful cypress trees - some of which sprouted more than 400 years ago.

Swimming
A pier more than 500 feet long extends into the lake providing a perfect place for swimming and sunning. Swimming is permitted only for group campers and only in the designated area. Lifeguards are not provided; group leaders must provide swimming supervision.

Boating
Canoes are located onsite for group campers only. Campers and visitors can bring their own watercraft (limit 10 horsepower) or canoes/kayaks. All personal watercraft must be washed onsite at the park office before launching into the lake.

Fishing
Though fish populations are low due to the acidity of the water, the lake has a population of yellow perch ready to provide a challenge for anglers. The public may fish in the lake when the group camps are not in use by obtaining permission from park staff. Fishing is permitted only during park hours. Please conform to the regulations of the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission.

Education Building
The Education Building accommodates up to 30 people. Restroom and drinking fountain are nearby, and the building is handicap accessible. Reservations are required. Please call the park for more information.
