Welcome to Burro Creek Campground
The Burro Creek Recreation Site is situated long Burro Creek within a very scenic Sonoran desert Canyon at an elevation of 1,960 feet. This peaceful area has long been a favorite stop of travelers on nearby Highway 93. Visitors here are invariably fascinated with the contrast between the deep blue pools and tree-lined banks of Burro Creek, and the saguaro-studded hills and cliffs of its desert setting. Burro Creek Campground is a small desert campground situated in a canyon along the creek of the same name and is a popular winter camping spot. The campground offers access to the sandy banks of the flowing creek in the canyon with views of the Highway 93 bridges arching overhead. Hiking is popular in the area with access to several backcountry areas and hiking trails nearby leading to the Aubrey Peak Wilderness and Arrastra Mountain. The campground is a wide open space dotted with shade ramadas marking the campsites. There are 30 campsites available for tent and RV camping. Each campsite includes a picnic table, fire ring, shade ramadas, and access to vault toilets.
