Welcome to Patapsco Valley State Park
Nature Exploration, History and Recreation Galore! Enjoy the woods and water along the Patapsco for varied recreation including camping, hiking, fishing, canoeing, horseback trails and mountain bike trails, as well as picnicking for individuals or large groups in the park's many pavilions available for rental. It features a view of the historic Thomas Viaduct, the world's longest multiple-arched stone railroad bridge, located in the park's Avalon Area. You also can walk across the 300-foot suspension swinging bridge in the Orange Grove Area. Please read what our campers and visitors are saying about Patapsco Valley State Park: The new paving is great in the Hollofield area campground but most of all the Rangers are amazing. Helpful, considerate and friendly. You make the guests feel welcome. One ranger came to our campsite with a partially blind bird and spoke to us for quite some time about the bird. The first day back to school, it was all one of my daughter's could talk about to the other students.
