Named for William Orlando Butler, a hero of the War of 1812, the Mexican War, the park is spiced with history. Glimpse into the nineteenth-century in the Butler-Turpin House. In the summer, enjoy a round of golf, or a set of tennis. In any season, enjoy the outstanding river valley views and friendly atmosphere at General Butler! A spacious campground features 111 campsites with utility hookups and grills. Showers, rest rooms, and laundry facilities are available at two central service buildings. Open year-round. Following first weekend in November to last weekend in March, water must be hauled from central source in campground. No advance reservations. Physically disabled site available, check-out by 2:00 p.m. Rates. Pets are allowed if restrained.
