Raco Airfield - Brimley, MI - Free Camping

Aug 11, 2021. travelling east on Rt 28 before Raco right turn on first 3536 road. NOT for big rigs but there is just enough room to turn one around. IF, a big IF, you have a small camper or truck camper go for it. The word Airfield (implying a former runway) is misleading; a previous review is misleading about the pad. We arrived after a huge rain: the sand road was laying deep with water in many places. Some branches will brush your rig. from a previous review: Yes, there is a weird 4-way road go straight , yes it turns sharp left to the end of the road. The referred to “ pad” is only big enough for maybe two smallish campers IF the first camper parked to one side. We tried it but departed immediately. USFS area. system makes you rate all categories but the categories are non-existent in Raco Airfield.
