Welcome to Petit Jean State Park
An Arkansas icon, a state natural and historic treasure that has welcomed travelers over the decades. The natural beauty and ancient geology of legendary Petit Jean Mountain inspired the creation of Arkansas's first state park, and with it our state park system. The park mirrors the mountain's rugged beauty with its rustic-style, native log and stone facilities constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) beginning in 1933. Within the park are three National Historic Districts containing more than 80 structures, trails, and bridges. Each of these remarkable works connects you to the craftsmanship and conservation legacy of the CCC, the close to his heart "Tree Army" of Franklin D. Roosevelt's New Deal. The focal point of this Adirondack-style park architecture is historic Mather Lodge, the park's mountain lodge on the bluff of rugged, scenic Cedar Creek Canyon. Nearby are the park cabins, campsites, picnic sites, swimming pool, Lake Bailey, boathouse, and other facilities and resources.

Amenities

Within Facility
The campgrounds feature a total of 125 campsites (including 26 pull-through sites). Thirty-five of the sites—the Class AAA sites—have 30 and 50 amp electrical, water, and sewer hookups. The 90 Class B sites offer 30 amp electrical and water hookups. All sites are reservable. Campsites are divided into four campground areas. Each includes a modern bathhouse with hot showers and flush toilets. Area "A" is near Lake Bailey and include sites along the lakeshore. Areas "B," "C," an "D" are located on the south side of Ark. 154 in wooded settings.
Other campsite choices in the main camping area include a 44-unit Rally-style Area with 20 amp electrical service available for camping clubs.
A trailer dump station is centrally located near the Rally-style camping area.
West of the main campgrounds in a separate area near Lake Roosevelt, the park's smaller lake, is the park's reservable Group Camp area. Available through the year, it includes a heated bathhouse.
