Welcome to Audra State Park
Before the turn of the century, West Virginians were drawn to the natural beauty of the Middle Fork River and its surroundings. This area is now Audra State Park, a heavily wooded riverside campground that continues to awe visitors. The park located in Barbour and a portion of Upshur County, attracts families that enjoy the outdoors to hike, camp and picnic.  The water of the Middle Fork River and the rock overhang of the Alum Cave are favorite photo backdrops. A seasonal area to visit, Audra State Park has been one of West Virginia's treasures since 1948.  Visit Audra State Park every chance you get.

CAMPING
The campground at Audra State Park consists of total of 67 tent and trailer sites, two bathhouses with modern facilities, and a centrally located playground. Coin-operated washing machines and dryers are onsite. A dumping station is located nearby. Six campsites at Audra State Park have electric with 30 amp pedestals thanks to funding from the Barbour County Commission to help cover installation costs. . The other campsites do not have hookups. A campground store is stocked with camping supplies, snacks and souvenirs, including bagged ice and firewood. Audra State Park campground opens April 15 in 2016 with a camping season through mid-October. Call for exact open and close dates that are subject to change.

KAYAKING
Whitewater enthusiasts enjoy boating the Middle Fork River. This activity is permitted at your own risk. To check the water flow in real time, visit the USGS water resources page. Choose the Monongahela river basin and then check water flows for the Middle Fork at Audra, WV. History buffs can entertain themselves with the history of the park. The spillway of a gristmill used in the early 1900s can still be seen today.

PICNIC SHELTER
A covered picnic shelter with water, electric and a large grill and can accommodate up to 50 people is available for daily rental. The shelter is accessible and has a large parking area. Call for rental rates for weekends and holidays. Mid-week rates are reduced. Reservations are taken month-to-year in advance. Advance reservations required. (304) 457-1162.

WEST VIRGINIA WILDLIFE CENTER
The West Virginia State Wildlife Center is a modern zoological facility displaying native and introduced state wildlife. Operated by the Wildlife Resources Section of the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources, the Wildlife Center is dedicated to presenting visitors a realistic and factual understanding of our state's wildlife. Woodland wildlife can be viewed along a wheelchair-accessible interpretative trail 1.25 mile through a mature hardwood forest. It is about a 50 minute drive or approximately 35 miles from Audra State Park to the wildlife center.
