Welcome to Camp Creek State Park
Camp Creek State Park and Forest is known for beautiful waterfalls and great camping experiences. With nearly 6000 acres, 35 miles of trails, and 7 miles of seasonally stocked trout streams for hikers, bikers, horseback riders, and sportsmen – there is something for everyone to explore. The park is situated just 2 ½ miles off Interstate 77 at exit 20. Camp Creek State Park is an oasis for the vacationer. Whether you choose the park as a vacation site or a stop-over, rest assured you will find exactly what you are looking for. Surrounded by the breathtaking mountains of southern West Virginia, Camp Creek offers a chance to enjoy what state parks are all about. The state park section of Camp Creek was formed in 1987 when 550 acres was marked off from the existing state forest which was established in 1953. Adjacent to the State Park, Camp Creek State Forest, consisting of 5364 acres, is managed to demonstrate sound forest management principles through the concept of multiple-use. In the forest section hunters may pursue many species of game including deer, bear, wild turkey, ruffed-grouse, and a variety of small game.
Amenities
Mash Fork contains 26 trailer/tent sites, 9 sites with electrical hookup, 9 sites with water and electric hookups, and 8 sites with full hookups. There is a heated bathhouse and two accessible sites. Camping units may be filled from water pumps before pulling onto sites. Picnic tables, grills and fire rings are at all campsites.
Wifi is available in Mash Fork Campground only. Campers taking advantage of this service can register for use at the check-in building during operating hours.

Blue Jay CampgroundBLUE JAY CAMPGROUND
Blue Jay consists of 12 rustic tent sites. Amenities include pit toilets, water fountain, picnic tables, grills, and fire rings. Open April 1 through November 1. Campers are welcome year-round with the understanding facilities may be limited and weather permitting. See camping rates Click to see Camp Creek State Park map and campground areas.
DOUBLE C - HORSE AND RIDER CAMPGROUND
A camping option is available for horseback riders and their horse. “Double C” Campground features access to approximately 25 miles of horseback trails. There are two, four, and six horse Double C Horse and Rider Campgroundoccupancy sites available in this area. Campers may only bring the number of horses in which their campsite stalls can accommodate. Double C Campground is open April 1 through October 31. Campers are welcome year-round with the understanding facilities may be limited and weather permitting November 1 – April 30. See camping rates Click to see Horse and Rider Campground Map.
This campground is by reservation only and offers vault toilets, fire rings and picnic tables.
Showers are available for use at the Mash Fork Camping area.
PACK IT IN – PACK IT OUT SITES
Pack it in - Pack it out SitesBy reservation only, new in 2014 is a Pack It In – Pack It Out camping adventure at Camp Creek State Park & Forest. If you like backpacking and want away from the crowds, this is for you! The first .9 miles of the hike/bike ride is a steep switchback trail to the top of Farley Ridge. Then it is a 1.5 mile hike along a scenic wooded ridgeline to the Almost Heaven Road and Trail. Along the end of this .6 mile trail is the campsite complete with a picnic shelter, fire pit, two tent pads, and primitive toilet facilities. Tents and camping are restricted to the designated areas; there is a fee for camping and advance reservations are required.
LAUNDRY FACILITIES
Camp Creek State Park offer laundry facilities and located in Mash Fork Campground bathhouse.
This facility and bathhouses are open seasonally from April through November, weather dependent.
FIREWOOD AND ICE
Firewood and ice are available for purchase. A coin laundry is available for your use.
DUMP STATION
This service is open year-round to Camp Creek State Park overnight guests and near the main office.
GIFT SHOP
A gift shop is located in the park office and at the check-in building of Mash Fork Campground
TRAILS
Camp Creek State Park & Forest offers fifteen trails for a total of 33.25 miles of scenic hiking. Over 27 miles of these trails are open to mountain bikers and for equestrian use. Click the 'Trails' tab on this page for trail descriptions and trail use.
HORSEBACK RIDING
There are 30-35 miles of trails in the adjacent State Forest ia available for horseback riding. Equestrian camping is also available, visit our camping page for more details.
PLAYGROUNDS
Playground equipment is located in each campground and near the picnic areas.
HUNTING AND FISHING
Hunting is allowed only on the state forest. Fishing is permitted throughout the park and the forest. West Virginia state hunting and/or fishing licenses with trout stamp are required for both areas. Licenses may be purchased at the park office.
GAMES COURTS
A regulation basketball court, volleyball courts, and badminton courts are available. Horseshoe areas are located throughout the park.
